Actually, it's not "my" book project. It's "our" book project, Charlene Prince and me. Truth be told, I'm Remington Steele to her Laura, George Bush to her Condi. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
So. A few months ago, Charlene asked me if I wanted to team up with her on an anthology, a collection of essays written by fathers about their experiences raising kids, stories that you won't find in a "Chicken Shit Soup For The Soul" book, real, honest takes on the highs and lows of being a dad. (That I'm not big on sappy, disingenuous puff pieces should come as no surprise if you read this site or DadCentric). We've been putting in the hours - developing the proposal, talking with our agent, and recruiting contributors. I'll be editing pieces, doing an introduction, and contributing a story (not giving anything away, kids, but the prospect of seeing my name on a book cover alongside the names of some of the folks we're talking to makes me a bit dizzy). As soon as we're done putting together the proposal (early May), we'll be posting a call for general submissions. In addition, there will be a separate website for the book (because I need more websites in my life).
Stay tuned for further developments.
