I Feel Dirty And Used

So perhaps you've heard of Kindle, Amazon's e-book reader thing. No, I will not provide a link, as I really don't want to have anything more to do with it.

See, way back when I was part of the FM Collective, I signed an agreement to allow Amazon to syndicate DadCentric's feed for some new e-book reader thing. And promptly forgot that I signed said agreement. Flash forward to this morning, when I get an email from one of my legion of fans alerting me to some dirty deeds being done, dirt cheap, as it turns out.

Luckily, I corrected the mistake before it came back to bite me in the ass. I guess I don't do righteous indignation very well, but really, I feel like I don't really need to whip up the masses. Based on the underwhelming response Kindle has generated, and the fact that the folks at Amazon may have been a wee bit shady with a number of bloggers, it seems dead on arrival.

The Wave Breaks and Rolls Back

I actually thought of this post's title first. Usually I'll write a bunch of crap and then say, hmm, you know what would be a good title? (Insert title here.) This time, though, I logged into TypePad, realized that's been just over two weeks since my last Pet Cobra post, realized that, well, shit dude, I have a new baby and my job's been kicking my ass and I helped launch a new website and that's just crazy.

The wave breaks and rolls back.

I feel like I just came up for air. Or maybe I've just reached terminal velocity. In any case, I've adjusted to the new order; we're a family of five (musn't forget the dog), my Dunder-Mifflin-esque company may not be hopelessly so, and I've been able to put up new material on Parentricity and DadCentric (including a forthcoming e-interview with my man A.J. Jacobs). I am pleased to report that tomorrow I will actually be (drumroll please) surfing for the first time in a month. And I'll be back to work on the DadCentric book, which will hopefully be released before Zoe's first birthday. (Update on the baby: she is getting cuter by the hour. I sincerely hope that my lovely daughter enjoys her first 16 years of life, because in 2023 she is going to be locked up in a tower in an undisclosed location - I'm thinking somewhere along the Icelandic coast - there to remain until she's 21.)

So, yeah, I'm tired. But it's a good tired.
